Joint event by Bangladesh Students Association of California (BDSAC) and Jalshaghar Entertainment

Little Dhaka, Artesia, California

Jointly organized by Bangladesh Students Association of California (BDSAC) and Jalshaghar Entertainment at Little Dhaka, Artesia, California, a familiar cultural event for the Bangladeshi community. This iconic event has been innovated and organized at this particular venue by BDSAC since 2004. In this particular event Jalshaghar Entertainment operated their PA sound system equipped with high performance audio hardware; besides the PA system was tested and configured at the onset of the program and worked excellent with no malfunction. The Chand Raat 2006 event drew an outstanding audience. The show was jointly hosted by Sohail, Mamun, Tanim, Nasir, Shah, Khaleed, Riad and Nadira. Members of BDSAC and Jalshaghar Entertainment worked relentlessly to make this program successful; This cultural show has been a predominantly Music and DJ Dance event as a celebration of holy Eid Al Fitr on its eve.

The Chand Raat 2006 event started with Azan at the sunset and with a brief break for Iftar, a chorus of Bangladesh National anthem ensued. Right after the anthem another chorus, a very famous Nazrul song, "Ramzaner Oi Rojar Sheshe", has been presented which was led by BDSAC and Jalshaghar Entertainment Presidents Abdullah Mamun and Dr. Shah Alam. Jalshaghar Entertainment has composed the sound track for this chorus. Following the chorus there has been several solo songs offered by some local artists of California. Among the singers were, Mrs. Ria, Khaleed Hossain, Abdullah Mamun and Dr. Shah Alam. The singers solo songs performances kept the audience amused all through the musical part of the event.

The second part of the event has drawn the crowd into a DJ dance with amusing DJ music,  which kept the audience heightened 'til the end of the event.

Mohamed Rahaman has operated the sound mixing board and DJ music. Shahriar Alam did video recording of the event.

ATN BANGLA has organized this US West event of its 'Tarokader Taroka' program as part of its 'Talent search' effort from all over the World. The events occurred in 4 rounds, of which the 1st round took place in 4 different zones (Houston, San Francisco, Arizona, and Los Angeles)

Dr. Hashem has hosted all of the 2^nd, 3^rd, and 4^th (final) round competitions. ATN BANGLA executive Selima Akhter has been overseeing the programs. The 2^nd Round took place on Sept 15, Friday, from 5 PM to 11 PM. Among 33 winners of the first rounds 23 contestants participated in this round. 18 contestant won this round for the 3rd round.

The  3^rd Round has occurred on Sept 17, Sunday, from 10 AM to 3 PM. 10 contestants from the 2nd round succeeded this round to go to the the 4^th (final) round.

4^th (final) round took place on Sept 17, Sunday, from 6 PM to 12 midnight. Dr. Adiba Akhtar has achieved the first place while, Shanta Barua and Rony Chowdhury together took the second position, Mizan Chowdhury has attained 3rd position. Among the other contestants were Rahima Akhtar, Khondkar Ranga, Mrs. Ria, Krishna Pal, Shilpy etc.

ATN BANGLA Chairman Mr. Mahfuzur Rahman could not attend the final round. However, other ATN BANGLA executives has been present. The program events were much successful. PA sound system has been plagued by faulty equipments causing major distortion. On the final round, malfunction has been very much unacceptable. Jalshaghar Entertainment President Dr. Shah Alam has been requested by the program organizers to fix the sound system and after he took over the PA sound system operation, it continued flawlessly throughout the rest of the program.

The Bangladesh Mela 2006 festival took place in the Shatto Recreation Center, Los Angeles, California, a familiar cultural event venue for the Bangladeshi community organized by Anis, Tarek, Taslim, Helal, Dhuli and Belal. Khaleq City has been chief sponsor. This festival has been inaugurated by the Consul General Shamsul Haque. The festival drew a high number of audiences. With exception of several instances of malfunction of PA sound system, the festival has earned a high rank among several other events. Artists from local cultural organizations Uttaran and Bangla Pathshala has performed in this event. Among the local singer Annie has performed her solo songs. There was a Mela arranged in this venue, which preceded the cultural shows. Guest artists from Bangladesh Aanki Alamgir, Rizia Parvin and Krishna Kaya presented their solo and chorus songs and amused the audience.

Before the show on the second evening, there was a 'Poem Recitation', 'Drawing Picture' and 'Dress as you like' contests took place. With the hosting of Shanku Aich, major attraction of the show 'Close up one' artists performed and kept the audience heightened all through.

Tamanna

Arranged in Shoshone Room, CSUN, Northridge, California

Tamanna Chowdhury and Zakaria Hoque (Sachi) wedding party has been arranged in the Shoshone room of  sattelite Student Union of California State University Northridge (CSUN). Over 400 guests has gathered in that party. Many distinguished persons of Bangladeshi community have also been there among the guests. Tanim Chowdhury (Tamanna Chowdhury's only brother and BDSAC's Joint Secretary) has worked relentlessly to arrange this party together with many of his fellow BDSAC members and his friends. A wedding banquet has been arranged for the guests.

A music program has been organized in that party by Jalshaghar Entertainment. Jalshaghar provided its PA sound system for the entire event. It was hosted by Tanim Chowdhury who announced the programs details to the distinguished guests. Jalshaghar founders, Khaleed Hossain and Dr. Shah Alam presented Bengali songs of various singers, such as Hemanta Mukherjee,  Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar and Manna Dey.

The wedding party has been a very successful and a well organized event .
